INBio y ACOPROT joins efforts to improve the quality of naturalist tour guides

Guias Naturalistas 2012The National Institute of Biodiversity, INBio, together with the Costarican Association of Tourist Professionals (ACOPROT), graduated last march 29th, a group of 30 young tour guides with emphasis on biodiversity, who went through months of training to offer specialized services to national and international tourists in Costa Rica.

This certificate entitles them to guide anywhere in the country with the back up of two important institutions: a leader in tourism and a leader on biodiversity. Students also acquire a certificate from the National Learning Institute (INA) and are presented with a license by the Costarican Tourism Institute (ICT).

These actions are important to Costa Rica, since the more the touristic industry grows, the more tour guides there are, and the services provided by them must become better and more demanding to be truly successful.
