Description
Antenae with 11 segments and a 3 segments club. Antennal insertions concealed. Visible portion of procoxa transverse with the trochantin at least partly exposed. Procoxal cavity externally open and internally open. Mesocoxae separated by 0.4 to more than 1 coxal width, with mesocoxal cavity laterally open. Tarsal formula 5-5-5. Numberof ventrites 5 without ventrites connate. Body length 3.7-5.5 mm. Ovate, strongly convex and glabrous. Head projecting forward, with large mentum. Antennae and legs fitting into depressions or cavities under body.

Quick identification
Nosodendridae have an ovate body, which is convex above and more or less flattened below, with a prognathous head with an enlarged mentum concealing the mouthparts, prothoracic, pterothoracic and abdominal cavities for housing the legs, and expanded protibiae, which conceal the capitate antennae from below (second figure).
