Suborder Polyphaga, Series Cucujiformia, Superfamily Cucujoidea.

Description
Antenae with 11 segments, moniliform or clavate. Antennal insertions concealed. Visible portion of procoxa globular or transverse with the trochantin concealed. Procoxal cavity externally open and internally open. Mesocoxae separated by 0.4 to 1 coxal width, with mesocoxal cavity laterally closed. Tarsal formula 5-5-5. Numberof ventrites 5 without ventrites connate. Body length 3.5-35 mm. Elongate, parallel-sided, flattened to subcylindrical and glabrous. Longitudinal grooves and carinae usually on elytra and sometimes pronotum.
